Fitness Studio or Gym QuickBooks CleanupDues stay off the class item
Floor time and a class on the schedule are different products. This page also says who publishes the site.
Meet the practice
Who publishes this
Steven Palmieri is who the phone reaches, at +1 844-324-7273. The work on a hired file is the items, the month, and the return those months support.
This address exists so a studio export has one place to land. An owner who is not ready to hire anyone can still use the pages. Hiring, if you want it, is the items, the month, and the return from months that already agree.
Two names introduce the practice. Tax CFO, and the Entrepreneur's CFO. They are titles for the same work. The export, the close, and the return stay together so a year does not split across vendors who never see the same file.
Why the dues item stays separate
Floor time is the right to come in. A class on the schedule is an hour with a guide at a set time. A private session is one person and a trainer. The billing software often drafts them on the same morning, sometimes on the same member, and the bank receives one net amount. That is a convenience for the card run. It is a bad chart of accounts.
If those charges share one QuickBooks item, a price change later cannot say which product moved. The history of both is rewritten by a single edit. Reports that should show class revenue and floor revenue show one blob. The person closing the month has to guess.
The repair is dull and it works. Give each kind of charge an item before the deposit is entered. The export remains the list of what was billed. QuickBooks becomes the list of what kind of thing it was. The deposit is then a split, not a lump posted to sales.
A class that was recorded and sold for later is a fourth kind of thing. It is not the same as the hour that happened live. It gets its own item too, so a library of recordings does not hide inside the class line.
None of this asks the owner to stand at a counter while we watch. The export is shared as a file. We mark the items on a screen. The bank file for the same days sits beside it.
Initiation, the annual, and the guest
Floor time is not the only charge that gets glued to the class. An initiation fee is paid once, for joining. An annual fee is paid to keep a rate. A guest pass is a day for someone who is not a member. If those three sit on the class item, the class report becomes a story about joining and about visitors, and the hour that was actually taught disappears.
Split them. The initiation is not income you will see every month, so it should not make a monthly class report jump. The annual is a renewal, not a lesson. The guest is a day, and the day ends. None of those facts require a season or a tax rate. They are the same in any studio that bills this way.
What you send when the dues item is the question
Send the export, the last closed month if one exists, and the question. If floor time and classes are already separate items, say that. If one item is doing both jobs, say that too. We do not need a member roster with names on the first look. Amounts can be covered. What we need to see is which products share an item.
If trainer pay is tangled with the dues item, say so in the same note. Setup of the payroll provider is part of the same practice. Running payday is not.
